Derek began his career as a journalist at newspapers in Maryland and D.C., writing and editing stories about everything from professional sports to the U.S. military. After a stint in the marketing department of the USO, he joined NDG Communications in 2013. Since then, he's helped homebuilders sharpen their brands and craft well-told stories that motivate prospects. Derek appreciates the benefits of a new construction because, at the end of the day, he goes home to his wife and two children and a 200-year-old farmhouse that is anything but low maintenance.
