The Mid-Atlantic’s best and brightest homebuilders, land developers and real estate professionals came together in Mclean, VA, on Thursday evening for the annual Great American Living Awards presented by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA).
Among the crowd were members of the NDG team, who were there to support our clients as they were recognized by a panel of industry experts for excellence in real estate marketing. By the end of the night, four of our clients — for a total of six projects — had been honored by the NVBIA for their superior storytelling and branding efforts.
“There’s no question that this year’s GALA award-selection process was more competitive than ever. Having these six projects recognized among all the great work that was submitted is a testament to our clients’ willingness to innovate and go beyond average. We’ve always appreciated the fact that our clients are on board whenever we want to try new things or push the boundaries of what everyone expects homebuilders to do, and I’m proud of our team for stepping up with these award-winning efforts.” –NDG President Tom Nelson
Website – Individual Community
Del Ray Place (DelRayVA.com)
A recent highlight in the Showcase section of our blog, DelRayVA.com is home to the new responsive website we developed in conjunction with longtime client Brookfield Residential and McWilliams | Ballard.
Designed to build awareness of this new condo community, which is located in the heart of Alexandria, VA, this site emphasizes the distinct style of the community by drawing from the eclectic culture of the sought-after Del Ray neighborhood. More than just a beautiful design, however, this site played a pivotal role in helping Del Ray Place host its successful grand opening, and more than 50% of the residences were sold within days.
Online Advertising – Ad Campaign
Style. Location. Innovation.
Targeting a vast swath of buyer profiles across Maryland and Virginia, this division-wide ad campaign aimed to connect with new home shoppers while telling a story of Brookfield Residential’s unique selling proposition of being “The Mid-Atlantic’s Most Innovative Homebuilder.”
It was a big story to tell, and it had to be told in a small space — more specifically, it had to be told in the space of a traditional banner ad. But these display ads were anything but traditional. Their fun, engaging style and high-quality imagery helped them stand out in the digital space and help us convey Brookfield’s dedication to style, location and innovation.
Direct Mail – Individual Direct Mail Piece (Award of Merit)
Bradford’s Landing Model Grand Opening
“Live Connected” is the headline of this premium direct mail piece developed to promote one of Brookfield Residential’s newest communities, but it’s also a testament to that community’s innovative homes and ideal location in Silver Spring, MD.
Used to help introduce Bradford’s Landing, this mailer artfully and concisely told the story of the community, and let to a successful Grand Opening event and helped the community get off to a fast start. That’s no small feat considering how competitive and busy the Montgomery County homebuying market is right now.
K. Hovnanian® Homes
Direct Mail – Individual Mail Piece
Line K Direct Mail
As K. Hovnanian® Homes’ luxury brand in Virginia, Line K’s homebuyers consist of the most affluent Loudoun County, Fairfax County and Washington, DC, area home shoppers. Every element of this direct mailer, from the bold and compelling messaging and ultra-modern photography to the shape of the mailers themselves, was thoughtfully designed to speak to those in that buyer profile.
With its premium feel and design, this mailer perfectly captured the psychology of Line K buyers and played to their motivations in a way that compelled without pandering. We chose to avoid the trap of focusing solely on the product’s unique modern luxury, and instead challenged the home shopper to find the lifestyle they desire with the home and community as the backdrop to their own, unique story.
Printed Brochure – Condominiums or Apartments
One of the biggest challenges of marketing 1745N is conveying the connectivity and unique differences of the Historic Row and Modern Flats buildings at the community. While the former is a product of renovating 100-year-old properties, the latter is a distinctly contemporary endeavor, which means they appeal to a variety of buyer profiles
Because of the unique product offerings available at 1745N, this brochure provided an effective blend of aspirational lifestyle messaging and essential information about the two unique buildings that make up 1745N. It’s a complex story to tell, but we wove the entire thing into an easy-to-digest printed collateral element that’s an essential part of the process at the sales office.
Sales Office – Model Home Sales Center
Cabin Branch Seattle Model New Home Gallery
The Cabin Branch New Home Gallery is one of many sales center environments we’ve designed with our client Winchester Homes over the past couple of years, and it was also recognized at the MAX Awards this past summer.
As always, the concept of this New Home Gallery was crafted to complement the New Home Advisors’ sales presentation, not overshadow it. To make it work, we created a space that felt both upscale and accessible, and elements such as white lacquer, dark walnut floors and a birchwood art wall above iPad stations helped achieve this.
